Richard Crossley

Richard Crossley

Please join us as we welcome Richard Crossley, author of The Crossley ID Guide. Richard's own story is told in a Yorkshire brogue through a camera lens that loves color and art. There are tales of lessons learned while growing up in the wild British birding scene - from travels around the world to living in Cape May. With humor and depth, his story highlights the thoughts behind the revolutionary Crossley ID Guide series.

But is changing how we look at books and birds enough? 'Heck, no!' says Richard. Come listen to his past, and perhaps it will change your thoughts on the future!

Richard Crossley is an internationally acclaimed birder and photographer. He first came to the US from England as a 21-year old and almost immediately became well-known for discovering 'The Dyke' at Cape May and identifying passerines flying overhead.

Richard has set himself a huge new goal - to popularize birding and the outdoors through books and multi-media. By making nature more fashionable, he hopes to encourage more of today's youth to become the game-changers of tomorrow. Constantly thinking outside the box and with five books, a TV series on the horizon and other business projects, he believes the future is an adventure – a busy one!

Richard will be signing his books at the meeting; if you already have one of his books, bring it along! Copies of Richard's books will be available for purchase at the GIAC Nature Store as well.

7:00 – 7:30 pm: Book signing (7:00 - 7:15), social time, refreshments, and door prizes

7:30 – 9:00 pm: Main program

Columbus Audubon public programs are held at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center (505 West Whittier Street in the Scioto-Audubon Metro Park on the Whittier Peninsula).
