Our friends at Green Lawn Cemetery have launched their annual Photo Contest.  The contest runs through the entire year, with winners announced next January.  Cash prizes will be $300 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third.

All photos submitted must be taken at Green Lawn -- not a great hardship for those of us who visit and bird there on a regular basis!  For contest rules and information on submitting photos, see the Photo Contest page at the Green Lawn Web site.

Walk, swim, fly, or waddle your way to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center this February. Columbus Audubon, partnering with the Ohio Ornithological Society, presents a Waterfowl Symposium February 26-28, 2010, at the GIAC. Through lectures and speakers, we'll travel to the marshes of Iraq, visit the breeding grounds of the Arctic, flyover the stopover habitat of Lake Erie, and look inside nests to learn about the secret life of waterfowl.

The weekend event features an optional benefit concert Friday evening, a great lineup of speakers on Saturday, and optional field trips on Sunday morning.  To register online, or to learn more, click on Waterfowl Symposium on the menu to the left.
