Matt Erickson has had a Rufous Hummingbird coming to a feeder in southern Delware County since Thanksgiving Day. (Now that was a nice Thanksgiving surprise!) On Sunday, November 25, Allen Chartier, noted hummingbird expert from Michigan, came by to band this bird. Peter Emmett was on hand to take photographs; you can see the results here.

It's not too early to start thinking about Columbus Audubon's annual Birdathon! The committee has been hard at work to inject even more fun and excitement into all aspects of Birdathon. We invite you to the 
Columbus Audubon is pleased to announce that EcoWeekend has been awarded a $500 grant from the Collaborative Funding Program of the National Audubon Society. The grant will support a special and entertaining program by Mark Berman, The Bugman, for this spring's EcoWeekend, which runs from May 3 - 5.
Ada Burke celebrated her 90th birthday this year at her farm, the site of Calamus Swamp, with a large crowd of family, friends, and neighbors. They gathered at the Circleville home she was born in on the farm where she has spent her entire life.
